Freedom from Addiction

Nari Primary School, Bhavnagar, Gujarat
*India* Year 2012

In 2012, students of Nari Primary School, Bhavnagar, Gujarat, were concerned that a lot of people in the community were addicted to the terrible habit of smoking or chewing tobacco. They spread awareness about the ill-effects of tobacco through an exhibition, rally and street play, boldly organised fasts to force family members to quit, and even requested the panchayat to ban tobacco.
